On Friday, March 20, 2020, Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin released a statement that the federal tax filing deadline has moved in response to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The new deadline of July 15, 2020, corresponds with the tax payment deadline previously rescheduled earlier in the week. However, there are some details that are not known at this point and we will hopefully receive more guidance from IRS soon.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

Due to the extenuating circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we are limiting access to the office and discouraging face to face interaction. Many of our employees are working remotely which we can easily do.

In many ways, the work we do for you will not be impacted however it may be delayed. We are working as diligently as possible while trying to deal with all of the outside distractions.

Moving forward with the following policies in place:

  • We continue to work on returns on a first in first out basis, however we will try to get returns that have refunds completed as soon as possible.
  • At this point we are delivering returns either via e-mail or thru our electronic portal.
  • We encourage you to use secure e-mail or our client portal as much as possible to send all documents needed to complete your return securely. If you need a secure e-mail let us know and we can help with that.
